Paul Cautley CMG OBE DL
Paul’s career to date, having set up on his own in 1974 with Strategy Ltd, has principally been directly involved in business innovation which included new patenting and licensing activities for BT, British Railways Board, the creation of the Docklands Light Railway and generating investment for a number of urban regeneration programmes around the country as well as creating a number of new research projects for the Economist Intelligence Unit.
In 1994 Paul created the Development Group, better known as “The D Group“ enabling its 77 corporate members to develop new business relationships and to benefit from members collective contacts and experience. A short period of cancer interrupted the business development process, and Paul successfully sold the business in 2008 to two City investors and it continues to prosper to this day.
In 2012 Paul created “HPW“ which stands for “Helping People Win Ltd“ for a smaller group of 12 business leaders, mentoring them on their creative strategy and business development which is working well.
On the 1st December 2018, Paul completed a 57 year tour of duty with the Royal Marines Reserve which included a 12 year stint as Honorary Colonel of RMR London, and latterly as Colonel Commandant, Royal Marines Cadets which over the years he has built up to 3000 cadets.
In June 2001, Paul was appointed a Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) for services to British business interests overseas, and in 2015 he was awarded an OBE for voluntary services to HM Cadet Forces. In addition, for 10 years Paul was also a Deputy Lieutenant (DL) of Greater London supporting Her Majesty the Queen and the Lord Lieutenant on a number of public occasions.
Marc Silvester was invited to become a member of HPW in May 2018, and Paul is delighted to act as a senior advisor to Silxo Ltd.
